In the early years Petaling Jaya give the priority to the development work. The authorities have sought to promote the opening of the industrial areas and public facilities. Development began in the town of Petaling Jaya “Old Town” with the construction of row houses, shops, community halls, cinemas, bus stations and others. Road 1 (a) which is now called Jalan Templer is the first road built in Petaling Jaya.
