Institut Tanah dan Ukur Negara

The National Land and Survey Institute was established on 1 May 1998 following a directive from the Cabinet on 9 July 1997. At the time, INSTUN was placed under the administration of the Ministry of Land and Co-operative Development. With the establishment of this institute, the task of training, which was previously handled by the Training Section of the Department of Federal Director-General of Land and Mines and the Malaysian Survey and Mapping Department, is now wholly handled by INSTUN. In 2004, INSTUN was placed under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE). It is the sole training institution in Malaysia which has been given the mandate and responsibility to train personnel in land administration, survey and mapping matters as well as related fields of information technology.
